Expectation versus Reality

As grad season has come to an end it's come to my attention that expectation versus reality are 2 completely different things.
We've all seen these stunning photos of friends, family, random strangers posted on the internet. Google or look on Pinterest for Graduation or Senior Photos and you'll be overwhelmed by thousands upon thousands of beautiful images. Different poses, locations, lighting. You name it, it's all there. You can lose hours of your life going down the rabbit hole of searching and saving these images to send to your photographer of what you'd like your session to be like!
The expectation that everything will fall into place on grad day and you'll get these amazing photos to remember your special day is high.

The reality is grad day isn't the best day to get these one of a kind beautiful photos showcasing you and the outfit you've spent so much time (and probably money) on. Grad days are busy. Schedules are tight. The light isn't always great, especially if it's mid day and there's no shade to be found. People always want a piece of the graduate and the graduate feels compelled to make time for everyone, except the photographer they hired. Everyone wants a photo with the graduate so it ends up being more like a photo booth instead of these gorgeous, creative images the grad (or grad parent) has envisioned.
If you've invested the time into researching and booking a photographer, searching up poses or styles that you like and are hoping to recreate. Then I recommend booking your photographer to capture your images on your hair and makeup trial day, any random evening before or after grad, in your favourite season, pretty much any day other than your actual graduation day in order to get those wall hangers that you absolutely love.
